Born from a magic stone that sat on the top of a mountain, Sun Wukong, the Monkey King wields god-like powers in the Novel Journey to the West, as he accompanies the monk Xuanzang on a journey to retrieve Buddhist sutras from India.

Journey to the West is a collection of illustrations I made around the Chinese novel of the same name, primarily featuring the character Sun Wukong, the Monkey King.

Completed in 2012, ink on paper, digital inking, colouring & finish.
